Introducing the BLH Volunteering Programme!
At Beverley Leisure Homes, supporting our community has always been important to us.
We believe that giving your time to help others is one of the most valuable things a person can do.
Whether it’s supporting local charities, helping community groups, or contributing to meaningful causes, volunteering creates a positive impact for everyone involved.
We also understand that life can be busy. Our people balance work alongside family life, personal commitments, and many other responsibilities.
With this in mind, we are proud to introduce our new Volunteering Programme.
This initiative has been created to give our team the opportunity to support charities, causes, and community projects that matter personally to them, during work time and get paid to do it.
Rather than taking a one size fits all approach, we wanted to ensure our people could choose opportunities that are close to their hearts.
If volunteering opportunities are available and our team members want to get involved, we are fully behind them.
The programme reflects our commitment not only to our customers and business, but also to the wider communities around us. We hope it encourages meaningful connections, supports important local initiatives, and gives our people the chance to make a real difference.
We are delighted to share our first volunteering experience under this new initiative and are so pleased to see the programme officially off the ground.
It marks the beginning of what we hope will be many rewarding experiences for our team and the communities they support.
Corporate Volunteering – What Christine had to say…
I had a fabulous day volunteering with Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University, supporting Children Looked After at Rewilding Youth, based at East Hull Community Farm.
It was an absolutely amazing experience. The children had the freedom to play games, explore and find insects, we made fire, and most importantly, enjoyed being back in nature.
One of the loveliest moments was hearing each child share their favourite part of the day. For many of them, it was simply spending time together and being outside.
For a generation where so much time is spent indoors and on computer games, it was incredibly refreshing to see everyone reconnecting with nature and having so much fun.
Hopefully this is just the first of many Beverley Leisure Homes volunteering days, with even more colleagues getting involved in the future!
