Making Our Industry More Inclusive…

This industry should be a joyous one for everyone and all of us should be able to enjoy the experience at the same level.

For many neurodivergent individuals and families, finding the right holiday accommodation can feel overwhelming. Uncertainty around sensory environments, unfamiliar routines, noise levels, lighting or a lack of clear information can quickly turn what should be an enjoyable break into a source of stress and anxiety.

We are at the beginning stages of our partnership with My Safe Place Southern, a company whose aim is to help change that. They work with holiday parks to encourage the development of neurodivergent-considered holiday accommodation – spaces designed with greater understanding, reassurance and clarity.

What neurodivergent-considered accommodation may include (this could look different from one park to another)

  • Calmer, more sensory-considered accommodation
  • Clear, upfront information about surroundings and facilities
  • Options for quieter stays or predictable layouts
  • Consideration for lighting, sound and space
  • Greater understanding and flexibility from park teams

This is not about creating separate or restricted experiences, it’s about choice, transparency and understanding. Allowing families to make informed decisions that feel right for them.

We are so excited at the prospect of this partnership, as mentioned, we have only just started discussions with Karen and the team but we can’t wait to support this movement!

Stay tuned for more updates about this, and if you want to be a part of it, please get in touch!
